Margaret Ng
Watercolourist
Born in Queensland Margaret grew up with the colours of the outback and the rainforest which are reflected in her works. She gained a love of the Australian bush from her childhood family camping holidays.
In her paintings she hopes to bring some of outside indoors, to give a rest and a breath of fresh air to the viewer. Margaret has a fascination with how light interplays with the landscape and also enjoys observing and painting wildlife.
Margaret is a local artist who has studied acrylic and oil painting under Maree Sproats at Dural Art Studios, and leant watercolour and pen and wash with Joe Cartwright at Penrith. She has also attended seminars with well know local artists. Her main influence though was her mother, Gwen Chalmers, who was a passionate painter of over 30 years.
Margaret enjoys Plein Air painting excursions. She has been teaching art classes for adults and children in various mediums for seven years. She also greatly appreciates encouragement from her husband Michael in all things painting.
