Golden Repairs
This workshop is an introduction to a Japanese ancient art, Kin-Tsugi.
550 years of wisdom takes us to a journey of appreciating imperfection and accepting the unknown while we learn to repair a broken pottery in a friendly calm atmosphere. Sayoko has been trained in Japan and teaching the skills last 8 years. To complete the repair in time, synthetic resin will be used as adhesive. The process will be customised according to the piece you work on
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
How to assess the repair procedure and methods.
How to sand, glue and finish with golden or other coloured mica powder.
PLEASE BRING
Up to two pieces of broken/chipped/cracked pottery or porcelain
NOTE: If broken, no more than into 4 pieces.
A chipped area to be less than 5c coin.
No glass, wood or metal items at this stage
An apron or please wear clothes that can get stained.
